Hole saw SDS+ MODECO MN-61-381, carbide-tipped, 80 mm
Hole saw SDS+ MODECO MN-61-381, carbide-tipped, 80 mm
MODECO MN-61-381 carbide-tipped SDS+ hole saw, 80 mm cutting diameter, is designed for drilling circular openings in masonry, concrete, brick and similar mineral materials using SDS+ rotary hammers and compatible drills. The tool combines a robust body with a carbide cutting edge to resist wear during heavy-duty use and to maintain cutting performance when creating larger-diameter holes for installations and service penetrations.
The carbide-tipped cutting edge provides improved wear resistance and longer service life compared with plain steel hole saws when working in abrasive materials. The SDS+ shank ensures secure connection to compatible rotary hammers and reduces slippage during rotation and percussion drilling. The 80 mm diameter allows efficient creation of openings for pipes, conduits, vents and other building services while the sturdy body maintains shape and cutting accuracy under load.
Mount the hole saw onto an appropriate SDS+ arbor and secure it to an SDS+ rotary hammer or drill. Mark the center of the desired hole, start drilling at low speed to establish the pilot, then apply steady pressure and use the rotary hammer in rotation or rotation-plus-percussion mode as required by the substrate. Withdraw periodically to remove debris and prevent overheating. Maintain perpendicular alignment to the work surface for a clean, true cut. After completion, remove cut material and inspect the cutting edge for wear before continued use.
Use personal protective equipment including safety glasses, dust mask and hearing protection. For reinforced concrete, use slow, steady drilling and frequent withdrawal to clear dust. Replace the hole saw if carbide tips become chipped or severely worn to avoid poor cut quality and increased load on the tool and machine.
