Drill bit MODECO hex-shank paddle 32 mm MN-61-632 for wood
MODECO paddle (spade) drill bit MN-61-632 with a 32 mm cutting diameter is designed for fast, straight drilling in wood and wood-based materials. The hexagonal shank provides secure grip in chucks that accept hex shanks and helps reduce slippage during high-torque operation. This tool is intended for making through-holes in soft timber, construction lumber and plywood where a clean, straight hole is required quickly.
The paddle-shaped cutting head and central spur allow quick penetration and controlled chip removal, reducing the time needed per hole. The 32 mm diameter produces consistent hole size suitable for cable runs, dowels or pipe passages. The hex shank improves bit retention in quick-change chucks and impact drivers, enabling faster bit swaps and more stable performance under load. The simple geometry makes the bit easy to sharpen and maintain.
Secure the hex shank in a compatible drill chuck or quick-change adapter and tighten firmly. Mark the drilling position and, if necessary, use a pilot mark to prevent wandering. Start drilling at low speed to engage the central spur, then increase speed while applying steady, moderate pressure. Clear chips periodically to avoid clogging and overheating. For deep holes, retract the bit occasionally to remove debris. After use, clean off wood dust and store the bit in a dry place.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as eye protection and hearing protection. Match drill speed to the material—lower speeds for hardwood or thicker panels—and avoid excessive axial force to prevent splintering. For a cleaner exit hole, back the workpiece against sacrificial timber or support the exit side. Regularly inspect the cutting edges and sharpen or replace the bit when wear affects performance.
