Drill Bit MODECO SDS+ 8 mm, model MN-61-909
MODECO SDS+ 8 mm drill bit MN-61-909 is a carbide-tipped rotary-hammer drill bit designed for percussive drilling in masonry, concrete, brick and similar building materials. The bit fits SDS+ chucks and provides secure retention during hammer drilling, allowing efficient hole formation for anchors, dowels and through-fixings. It is intended for both professional and DIY use where a reliable 8 mm hole is required.
The drill bit combines an 8 mm carbide cutting tip with an SDS+ shank for fast chip removal and improved centring when starting holes. Its construction ensures stable performance under repeated impact loads and maintains cutting geometry for consistent hole diameter. The SDS+ connection allows quick insertion and removal in compatible rotary hammers, reducing downtime. The bit is suitable for continuous percussive use without additional adapters.
Select an SDS+ rotary hammer or hammer drill and ensure the tool is suitable for percussive drilling. Insert the bit fully into the SDS+ chuck until it locks. Mark and, if necessary, centre-punch the drilling point. Start drilling at low speed to achieve accurate positioning, then apply steady pressure and allow the hammer action to do the work. Withdraw periodically to clear dust and chips where deep holes are drilled. After use, clean the bit and store it dry to prevent corrosion and preserve cutting performance.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and dust mask. For drilling in reinforced concrete, check for rebar and avoid direct contact with reinforcement. Match drill length and type to the intended anchor or fastener and use a brush or compressed air to remove dust from drilled holes prior to inserting anchors.
