Drill Bit MODECO SDS+ 12 mm MN-61-920 — SDS+ masonry drill bit 12mm
MODECO SDS+ 12 mm masonry drill bit (SDS+ shank) is designed for use with SDS+ rotary hammers and hammer drills. With a 12 mm cutting diameter it is suitable for drilling holes in masonry, concrete and natural stone for anchors, dowels and through-holes. The SDS+ shank ensures a secure fit, efficient impact transfer and quick bit changes typical for professional and DIY construction tasks.
The drill bit features an SDS+ shank for reliable retention in compatible rotary hammers, enabling stable power transfer during percussive drilling. Its 12 mm diameter provides a balance between fast drilling progress and controlled hole size for fixing elements. The carbide tip and flute geometry are designed to evacuate dust and debris effectively, reducing friction and overheating during repetitive use.
Insert the SDS+ shank into the chuck of a compatible rotary hammer until it locks. Select the hammer drill mode for percussive action when drilling into concrete or masonry. Start at low speed to position the bit, then increase power steadily while maintaining firm, even pressure; avoid forcing the bit. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear dust and prevent clogging of the flute. After completing the hole, retract the bit and clean debris from the site.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection and dust mask. Match drilling speed and hammer settings to material hardness; for harder concrete use controlled intervals to avoid overheating. For anchor installations, verify hole depth and diameter before inserting fixings, and clear dust to ensure proper bonding of anchors and adhesives.
