Hand Tap Set MODECO MN-62-035 — M5, 3 pieces, manual threading tools
Hand Tap Set MODECO MN-62-035 — M5, 3 pieces, manual threading tools
MODECO hand tap set MN-62-035 contains three M5 taps designed for manual cutting and repairing of internal metric threads. The set is intended for use with a tap wrench or holder to create precise M5 threaded holes in metal, plastic and other machinable materials. It is suitable for workshop, maintenance and DIY tasks where consistent M5 threads are required and space or equipment limits favour hand threading.
The set includes three taps to cover progressive threading stages, enabling controlled cutting and improved thread quality. Made for manual operation, the taps offer good tactile feedback and fine control when aligning and starting threads. Their geometry is suitable for a range of machinable materials, and the compact set is easy to store and transport within a tool kit.
Select the appropriate tap for the threading stage (typically taper, plug and bottoming sequence where applicable). Secure the workpiece and ensure the hole is drilled to the correct diameter for an M5 thread. Mount the tap in a suitable tap wrench or holder, align it perpendicular to the hole and apply steady forward pressure while turning the tap clockwise. Use intermittent reverse turns to break and clear chips. Apply suitable cutting fluid for the material to reduce friction and improve thread finish. Progress through the taps as needed to achieve the desired thread depth and quality.
Use the set with appropriate safety measures: wear eye protection, clamp the workpiece firmly and choose the correct drill size before tapping. Select cutting fluid compatible with the work material, and avoid excessive force to prevent tap breakage. Store taps dry and clean to prevent corrosion and preserve cutting performance.
