Sheet Metal Left-Hand Offset Tin Snips MODECO MN-63-212 250 mm
MODECO Sheet Metal Left-Hand Offset Tin Snips MN-63-212 with a 250 mm blade length are hand-operated shears designed for cutting thin metal sheets. The left-hand offset design produces a left-curved cutting path, enabling straight and curved cuts while keeping the operator's hands clear of the cutting line. These tin snips are suitable for trimming flashing, cutting HVAC duct components, shaping roofing panels and other light to medium sheet-metal fabrication tasks where left-side cuts and tight radii are required.
The left-hand offset geometry provides improved visibility of the cut line and allows the user to make tight-radius curves without twisting the wrist. A 250 mm blade length balances reach and control for longer straight cuts as well as detailed shaping. The hand-operated mechanism requires no power source and offers tactile feedback for precise control. The construction is optimized for cutting non-hardened sheet metals typically used in roofing, flashing and ductwork.
Mark the desired cut line on the sheet metal and secure the workpiece to prevent movement. Position the tin snips so the offset blade clears the work surface and start cutting with smooth, even strokes, keeping the jaws aligned with the marked line. For tight curves, feed the material gradually while rotating the sheet rather than forcing the tool to twist; for long straight cuts use the full blade length for consistent results. After cutting, deburr the edge if required before fitting or finishing.
For longest blade life and consistent cutting performance, use the tin snips on appropriate sheet thicknesses and materials, avoid cutting hardened or spring steels, and keep blades clean and lightly oiled. Wear suitable hand protection and eye protection when cutting sheet metal, and secure workpieces to reduce the risk of slips or jagged edges.
