Abrasive Sanding Disc with Universal Joint for Drill MODECO MN-68-606 125 mm
The MODECO Abrasive Sanding Disc with Universal Joint is a 125 mm accessory designed for use with standard electric drills. It provides flexible articulation through its universal joint, allowing the abrasive surface to reach curved, angled and otherwise difficult-to-access areas. The disc is intended for surface preparation tasks such as paint and rust removal, deburring and smoothing of wood, metal and composite materials when paired with a compatible drill.
The universal joint offers increased mobility and prevents loss of contact on uneven surfaces, helping to maintain consistent sanding results. The 125 mm diameter balances coverage and maneuverability for both broad surfaces and tighter spots. The pad’s abrasive face is suitable for progressive material removal and finishing when used with appropriate grit abrasives and drilling speeds. The design enables quick attachment and use with most drills equipped with a suitable adaptor or mandrel.
Secure the universal joint into the drill chuck or onto the recommended mandrel according to your drill manufacturer’s instructions. Choose an abrasive grit suitable for the task and attach it to the disc surface. Start at low drill speed to position the pad, then increase speed as needed while maintaining even, light pressure to avoid gouging the workpiece. Move the disc along the surface in controlled passes, keeping the joint articulated to follow curves and contours. Periodically inspect the abrasive surface and replace when worn to maintain effective results.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as eye protection, dust mask and gloves. For best results on metal, remove heavy rust first with a coarser grit and finish with a finer grit. Avoid excessive pressure and high speeds on thin or delicate materials to prevent damage. Ensure the drill and joint are securely fastened before operation and allow the disc to cool between extended passes.
