Montana Hardcore 400 ml Dark Grey (R-7031) is a fast-drying alkyd-resin aerosol paint formulated with high-quality pigments. Designed for use on metal, wood, plastic and other prepared surfaces, this spray delivers a glossy, durable finish with good coverage and resistance to weather and UV. When it may not be suitable

This paint is not suitable for use on live electrical equipment or appliances connected to mains power. Because of pigment properties, it cannot be lacquered or overpainted with other solvent-based paint systems; use Montana-brand paints for compatible overcoating.

How to use

Shake the aerosol well before use for about one minute after the mixing ball is heard. Apply to clean, dry surfaces. Remove rust from corroded metal with a wire brush and apply an anti-corrosion primer if needed. Use a suitable primer on plastics and polyesters. For best results, apply thin coats; three thin layers are preferable to a single thick layer and can be recoated after fifteen minutes with the same colour. After use, invert the can and spray briefly to clear the valve; replace the nozzle if blocked. Use in well ventilated areas and never apply to powered electrical equipment.

What to consider before purchase

• Requires surface preparation: clean, dry and degreased surfaces give best adhesion
• Not compatible with non-Montana solvent-based topcoats due to pigment chemistry
• Intended for ambient temperatures above +8°C and surface temperatures between +5°C and +50°C
• Contains alkyd resins — check suitability for the target substrate and application

Usage recommendations

Apply in thin, even coats and allow short flash-off times between layers. For rusted metal, use an appropriate anti-corrosion primer first. Work in a well-ventilated area and follow local safety guidance for solvent-based aerosols.
