Tamper Stand MOTTA 3-position tamping base, model 2509000017
The MOTTA 3-position tamping base model provides a stable support for tamping espresso portafilters and tampers in three preset positions. Designed to improve consistency in puck compression, the tamping base reduces movement during tamping and facilitates a repeatable workflow at the espresso station. The compact design fits on a counter near an espresso machine and is suitable for both professional and home settings where precise tamping alignment is required.
The tamping base secures the portafilter and tamper in defined positions, which helps produce consistent tamp pressure and even coffee puck density. Its three-position layout allows quick switching between shots or operators without repositioning the equipment each time. The construction offers a solid, non-slip platform that keeps the portafilter steady during tamping, supporting an efficient and ergonomic workflow.
Place the MOTTA tamping base on a level section of the counter near the espresso machine. Position the portafilter in one of the three preset holders and insert the tamper so that it aligns with the puck surface. Apply tamping pressure as usual; the base will stabilise the portafilter and help maintain a consistent vertical alignment. After tamping, remove the portafilter and move to the next position or prepare the next shot.
For best results, ensure the counter and base are level and clean before use. Regularly check that the non-slip surface is free of grounds or moisture to maintain secure placement. Use the three positions to organise workflow—one for dosing, one for tamping and one for inspection or holding—to speed preparation and maintain consistency across shots.
