The Navilock 61840 USB 50 channels GPS receiver module is a compact external GPS unit designed for connection to notebooks and PCs via USB 2.0. Based on the u-blox 6 SuperSense® chipset, it receives L1 (1575.42 MHz) signals and can track up to 50 satellites simultaneously. The unit includes a built-in antenna, LED status indicator and a 1.50 m cable for flexible placement. It supports assisted GPS (AGPS), SBAS systems (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS) and standard NMEA 0183 output messages for integration with routing and navigation software.

How to use

Connect the Navilock 61840 to a free USB port on a notebook or PC using the supplied cable. Install any required drivers or let the operating system detect the device automatically, then open your preferred navigation or mapping software and select the GPS serial port or NMEA input. Place the receiver where the built-in antenna has a clear view of the sky for optimal satellite reception; the magnetic non-slip base allows stable placement on metal surfaces. Wait for a cold start (approximately 25 seconds) or a hot start (about 1 second) for initial positioning.

Usage recommendations

For best performance, position the receiver with an unobstructed sky view and enable SBAS corrections in your navigation software when available. Use the 1.50 m cable to locate the receiver away from sources of interference (large metal objects, other electronic devices) and verify the selected COM port and baud rate settings if the device is not detected. Regularly update your routing software and AGPS data where supported to reduce time to first fix.
