GPS receiver module Serial Navilock NL-8005P
The Navilock NL-8005P (MD6 series) is a compact serial GNSS receiver module based on the u-blox 8 chipset with a built-in high-sensitivity antenna. It supports L1 navigation signals at 1575.42 MHz and provides a universal serial interface for connection to notebooks or embedded systems. Its small footprint (65 × 45 × 22 mm) makes it suitable for integration into navigation devices, tracking units and development projects.
The NL-8005P combines a reliable u-blox 8 GNSS engine with an integrated antenna for improved satellite reception in typical outdoor environments. The module’s serial interface and MD6 universal connector allow easy attachment of optional USB or serial cables for use with routing or navigation software. Compact dimensions and support for standard L1 signals simplify installation and system integration.
Connect the NL-8005P to a host device using the MD6 universal connector and the appropriate serial or USB adapter cable. Install or configure navigation/routing software on the host (notebook or embedded system) and select the correct serial COM port and communication parameters. Place the receiver where it has a clear view of the sky for optimal satellite reception and allow the module time to acquire satellite signals after power-up.
For consistent performance, mount the receiver with minimal obstructions between the integrated antenna and the sky, avoid metal enclosures that block signals, and use quality serial/USB cables to maintain reliable data transfer. Verify baud rate and port settings in your navigation software according to the host’s requirements.
