GPS receiver module Navilock 62576
The Navilock 62576 GPS receiver module is a compact, board-level positioning component based on the u-blox 5 chipset. With a 50-channel receiver architecture and high sensitivity, it provides continuous satellite tracking and reliable location data for embedded navigation applications. The module delivers raw positioning and timing information suitable for integration into custom devices where a small form-factor GPS front end is required.
The module's 50-channel design allows simultaneous tracking of multiple GNSS signals, improving fix availability in challenging environments. A sensitivity down to -160 dBmW enhances signal capture in weak-signal situations such as urban canyons or under light foliage. Use of the u-blox 5 chipset provides stable time-to-first-fix and proven satellite management algorithms for consistent performance. The board-level format simplifies integration into development prototypes and final products where space and weight are limited.
Prepare the host system to communicate with the module over its serial interface and supply the recommended operating voltage according to the module documentation. Mount the module on the target PCB or development carrier, ensuring recommended grounding and antenna connection. Provide a suitable active or passive GPS antenna with clear sky view for optimal satellite reception. After power-up, verify reception of NMEA or binary messages and allow several minutes for the module to acquire ephemeris data and establish an initial position fix.
For best results, place the antenna with an unobstructed view of the sky and minimize nearby metal or RF-noise sources. Use a dedicated ground plane and follow the manufacturer's layout guidelines to avoid interference and ensure stable performance. If operating in environments with poor signal visibility, consider an active antenna with low-noise amplification and enable sensitivity-enhancing configuration options available in the chipset firmware.
