Socket for spark plugs 1/2" 16mm, NEO tools 08-090
NEO tools spark plug socket 1/2" 16mm (model 08-090) is a purpose-built tool for installing and removing spark plugs in automotive engines. The socket features a 1/2" drive interface and a 16 mm internal diameter to match common spark plug hex sizes. Designed for use with standard 1/2" ratchets or breaker bars, the tool provides secure engagement with the plug and effective torque transfer in confined engine compartments.
The socket offers precise fit to 16 mm spark plug hexes and a standard 1/2" drive for compatibility with widely used hand tools. Its tubular design allows access into recessed spark plug wells while maintaining stable contact with the plug. The construction ensures even torque distribution and reduces the risk of rounding plug hexes when used correctly. The tool's dimensions support work in tight engine spaces where reach and clearance are limited.
Select a 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar and, if needed, an extension to reach the spark plug well. Push the socket onto the spark plug until it seats fully on the hex. Apply controlled torque with the ratchet to loosen or tighten the plug; when removing, keep the socket aligned to avoid cross-threading. If the socket contains a rubber insert or magnet, use it to retain the plug while extracting. After use, inspect the socket for wear and store it with other hand tools.
Use a torque wrench to tighten spark plugs to the manufacturer’s specified torque. Avoid excessive force to prevent damage to threads or the spark plug. When working in deep or obstructed wells, use extension bars for better access while maintaining straight alignment with the plug.
