PoE tester NetAlly LinkRunner LR10G-100 RJ-45 SFP SFP+
The NetAlly LinkRunner LR10G-100 RJ-45 SFP SFP+ PoE tester is a compact handheld instrument designed to verify power-over-Ethernet delivery and basic link characteristics across copper and fiber interfaces. It supports testing on RJ-45 ports as well as SFP and SFP+ transceivers, enabling technicians to validate PoE availability and measure link presence, speed negotiation, and common electrical parameters. The tester includes an internal rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery with a nominal voltage of 3.63 V and is built to meet relevant EMC and FCC requirements for reliable field operation. Its small footprint (approximately 110.7 mm × 40.6 mm × 32.5 mm) makes it convenient to carry on service calls or integrate into a technician’s mobile toolkit.
The device provides multi-interface PoE testing across RJ-45, SFP and SFP+ connections in a single tool, reducing the need to carry separate testers. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery supports repeated field use without immediate access to mains power. Compliance with EMC and FCC standards ensures predictable electromagnetic performance and regulatory conformity during testing. The compact dimensions improve portability and ease of handling in tight rack or cabinet spaces.
Connect the tester to the network port to be evaluated using the appropriate interface (RJ-45, SFP or SFP+ module). Power on the unit and allow it to complete its self-check sequence. Use the device’s interface to select PoE measurement or link verification; the tester will report presence of PoE, supported power class or wattage negotiation where available, and basic link parameters such as link up/down and negotiated speed. Recharge the internal battery with the supplied charger when the battery indicator shows low charge. Follow any on-screen prompts and observe safety guidelines when connecting to live network equipment.
For accurate PoE verification, use compatible SFP/SFP+ transceivers when testing fiber or direct-attach modules, and ensure warm-up and a stable connection before recording measurements. Regularly recharge the internal battery and store the tester in a clean, dry environment to maintain reliable operation.
