dbx DJDI 2-Channel Passive Direct Box, Black
The dbx DJDI is a professional 2-channel passive direct box designed to convert high-impedance instrument signals into low-impedance balanced signals. This device serves as an essential tool for audio professionals, ensuring clean and reliable signal transmission for live sound and studio recording environments. Its robust black chassis is built to withstand regular use, providing a stable interface for connecting various audio equipment.
The passive circuit design of the DJdi ensures quiet and uncolored operation without the need for external power, making it highly portable and easy to integrate into any setup. With its dual-channel configuration and continuously variable input attenuator, it effectively manages a wide range of signal levels, preventing distortion and ensuring optimal audio quality. By converting unbalanced signals into balanced outputs, it eliminates noise and interference, allowing for long cable runs to mixers and PA systems.
This device is a passive unit and does not provide gain or amplification, so it is not suitable for low-output microphones that require phantom power or preamplification. It is designed specifically for line-level or instrument-level signals and will not function as a standalone microphone preamp.
To use the dbx DJDI, connect your unbalanced instrument or line-level source to the 1/4” TS inputs on the front panel. Connect the balanced outputs to your mixer or recording interface using standard XLR cables. If the incoming signal is too hot, use the continuously variable input attenuator to adjust the level until the signal is clean and free of clipping. No power source is required for operation.
Usage recommendations: Always use high-quality balanced cables for the output stage to maintain signal integrity and minimize potential electromagnetic interference during long-distance runs.
