Sanding roll KLINGSPOR PS18E 150 mm, grit 120, length 50 m
A KLINGSPOR PS18E sanding roll, 150 mm wide with P120 abrasive and a continuous 50 m length, is designed for use with compatible belt or roll sanding machines and manual finishing stations. The P120 grit delivers medium-fine material removal and preparation for subsequent coatings, providing a balanced cut rate and surface finish on wood, painted surfaces, and primers. The roll format supplies uninterrupted abrasive material for production runs or workshop tasks where consistent sanding performance is required.
The PS18E abrasive combines a durable backing with consistent P120 grain distribution to ensure even stock removal and uniform surface appearance. A 150 mm width fits standard narrow-bed machines and many manual sanding stations, while the 50 m length reduces downtime for roll replacements. The abrasive is suitable for sanding across timber, painted layers and primer coats, enabling efficient preparation before glazing, varnishing or repainting.
Install the sanding roll on a compatible belt or roll sander following the machine manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring correct tension and alignment. For manual finishing stations, cut the required length and secure it according to the station’s attachment method. Start with a moderate feed speed and check the surface regularly; adjust pressure, speed or backing support to achieve the desired finish without overloading the abrasive. Replace the roll when the abrasive becomes worn or performance declines to maintain consistent results.
Use P120 abrasive for intermediate sanding steps: for initial smoothing of rough timber use coarser grits, and for final finishing switch to finer grits. Maintain dust extraction and appropriate personal protective equipment during sanding. Store the roll in a dry, temperature-stable environment to preserve adhesive and abrasive performance.
