Lens filter adapter ring OM System PRF-ZD72 Zuiko PRO for 72mm filter diameter

OM System PRF-ZD72 Zuiko PRO for 72mm filter diameter is an adapter ring designed to allow use of 72 mm screw-on filters with compatible Zuiko PRO lenses. The adapter provides a secure mechanical interface between the lens and screw-type filters, preserving optical alignment and enabling use of polarizers, neutral density (ND) filters, UV filters and other 72 mm threaded attachments while maintaining the handling characteristics of the original lens.

Advantages

The adapter ring enables straightforward attachment of 72 mm screw-on filters without modifying the lens, offering a reliable threaded connection that minimizes play and maintains concentric alignment. It is designed for compatibility with Zuiko PRO series lenses that accept a 72 mm filter diameter, so photographers can add, remove or swap filters quickly in the field. The part supports common photographic filters—polarizers, ND, UV—helping to expand creative and technical control over exposure, reflections and spectral transmission.

Suitable for

• Photographers using Zuiko PRO lenses with 72 mm filter threads who need screw-in filters
• Landscape and architecture photography requiring polarizing or UV filters
• Long exposure and video work using neutral density (ND) filters
• Field work where quick filter changes and secure mounting are required

Key specifications

• Compatible filter thread diameter: 72 mm
• Intended lens series: Zuiko PRO compatible models accepting 72 mm filters
• Function: provides screw-on mounting for 72 mm filters and maintains optical alignment
• Application: supports polarizing, neutral density (ND), UV and other screw-type filters

How to use

Align the adapter ring with the lens front thread and gently screw it on until it seats securely without cross-threading. After mounting the adapter, attach 72 mm screw-in filters by rotating them clockwise until firm; avoid overtightening. To remove a filter or the adapter, reverse the process using steady counter-clockwise rotation. Handle with care to keep threads clean and free of grit to preserve smooth operation and avoid damage to lens or filter threads.

Usage recommendations

Use the adapter with filters appropriate for your shooting conditions and check that the adapter is compatible with your specific Zuiko PRO lens model. Keep threads clean and store filters and adapter in protective pouches to prevent scratches. When using stacked filters, verify there is no vignetting at wide angles.
