Service kit Park Tool LRT-3 — grey bicycle repair service kit, 1 pc
Park Tool LRT-3 — grey bicycle repair service kit is a single-piece service tool designed to remove and install direct-mount lockrings that retain front chainrings on certain modular cranksets. Supplied as a one-piece kit, the tool is built for workshop and home use where accurate lockring control and durability are required. The LRT-3 fits a range of lockring types and works with standard torque-wrench setups to ensure correct installation torque.
The LRT-3 is manufactured from heat-treated alloy steel and plated to resist wear and corrosion, offering reliable long-term performance. Its geometry is made to engage both 4-notch and 8-notch lockrings and accommodate 47–48 mm outside diameters, reducing the need for multiple specialty tools. The 36 mm hex drive interface allows use with a crowfoot and torque wrench for measured tightening, improving repeatability and reducing the risk of over- or under-torquing.
Position the LRT-3 tool so its notch engagement features seat into the lockring notches, ensuring correct alignment with either 4 or 8 notch patterns. Attach a Park Tool TWB-36 crowfoot or compatible 36 mm hex crowfoot to the tool and then connect a torque wrench. Use the torque wrench to apply the manufacturer-specified torque when installing the lockring, or to control removal forces when loosening. Inspect engagement during operation to avoid slipping and confirm the tool is fully seated before applying torque.
Use with a proper 36 mm crowfoot and torque wrench for accurate torque application. Clean the lockring and surrounding threads before installation. Inspect the tool for wear periodically and replace if notch edges are rounded or plating is compromised to maintain safe, reliable engagement.
