Service kit Park Tool LRT-4 — bicycle tool set, blue, 1 pc
Park Tool LRT-4 service kit is a compact bicycle tool set in blue supplied as a single pack. Designed for routine bike repairs and adjustments, this kit includes a purpose-made tool to remove and install Shimano direct mount chainring lockrings used on modern drivetrains. The tool is precisely CNC machined from 6061 aluminum to ensure accurate engagement with lockrings while minimizing the risk of marring expensive components. The kit is suitable for workshop or home use and supports general maintenance tasks such as drivetrain adjustments, minor component servicing and on-site quick fixes.
The LRT-4 tool features a machined flat face for optimal lockring engagement and a profile matched to lockrings with a 41 mm outside diameter and 16 notches, delivering a secure fit during removal and installation. Constructed from 6061 aluminum, the tool balances strength and light weight and is compatible with a 36 mm hex drive so it can be used together with a crow foot adapter and a torque wrench for accurate torque application. Its compact size and single-piece design make it easy to store in a workshop toolbox or transport for field repairs.
Position the tool so the machined flat face fully engages the lockring notches. Attach a 36 mm crow foot or compatible hex drive tool and, if required, fit a torque wrench to the crow foot. Turn the tool counterclockwise to loosen the lockring or clockwise to install, applying the manufacturer‑specified torque when reinstalling the chainring lockring. Inspect engagement before applying full force to avoid slippage and check threads and mating surfaces for cleanliness and damage before reassembly.
Use the LRT-4 with a calibrated torque wrench and the Park Tool TWB-36 crow foot or a compatible adapter to ensure correct torque. Keep the tool clean and free of grit to preserve the machined surfaces and avoid using excessive force if engagement is not perfect; verify compatibility with lockring dimensions (41 mm, 16 notches) before use.
