Lamp starter Philips S10 4–65W SIN 220–240V White, 21.5×40.3 mm, 65 W
Philips S10 lamp starter designed for use in fluorescent lighting circuits with electromagnetic ballasts. The starter is compatible with tubes rated between 4 and 65 W and intended for 220–240 V mains. It comes in a white flame-retardant polycarbonate canister with dimensions of approximately 21.5 × 40.3 mm and includes a built-in radio-interference suppression capacitor. Supplied as a single unit for direct replacement or maintenance of starters in fixtures and luminaires.
The starter provides reliable ignition for fluorescent lamps with electromagnetic gear and 2-pin lampholders, ensuring consistent starts across the compatible wattage range. Its plastic housing is flame-retardant and compact, allowing easy installation in most standard luminaires. Integrated interference suppression reduces electrical noise on the mains network, supporting compliance with interference limits and improving overall circuit stability.
Ensure mains power is switched off before removing the existing starter. Remove the old starter from the 2-pin socket and insert the Philips S10 starter by aligning the pins with the socket and pushing until it is seated. Restore power and verify that the fluorescent tube strikes and operates normally. For safe operation, follow the luminaire manufacturer's guidance and switch off mains power before any replacement or inspection.
Use the starter only with compatible fluorescent lamps and electromagnetic ballasts. Avoid using it in fixtures designed exclusively for electronic ballasts or LED driver systems. If frequent failure occurs, inspect the lamp and ballast condition or consult a qualified electrician. Store spare starters in a dry environment away from direct sunlight and high heat.
