Lens Adapter Pixco TYP 8 — Micro Four Thirds to 52mm filter mount
Lens Adapter Pixco TYP 8 — Micro Four Thirds to 52mm filter mount
Pixco TYP 8 — Micro Four Thirds to 52mm filter mount is a compact lens adapter designed to connect Micro Four Thirds (MFT) camera bodies with accessories or lenses that use a 52 mm front filter thread. The adapter maintains proper mechanical alignment and provides a secure physical interface for attaching 52 mm filters, step-up or step-down rings, and lenses or converters with a 52 mm thread, enabling the use of a wider range of glass and filter options on MFT systems.
The adapter offers a simple mechanical solution for extending compatibility between MFT mounts and 52 mm-threaded accessories without electronic communication or optical elements. Its lightweight construction keeps additional bulk and weight minimal while preserving the correct flange distance for safe mounting. The adapter's 52 mm thread allows for direct attachment of commonly available filters, polarizers, and protective elements, reducing the need for multiple filter sets or custom solutions.
To use the Pixco TYP 8 adapter, align the adapter with the MFT camera mount and engage it according to the camera body’s bayonet locking method until it seats securely. Screw the 52 mm filter or accessory into the adapter’s front thread in a clockwise direction until hand-tight; avoid overtightening to prevent thread damage. When removing the adapter, detach any filters first, then unlock the adapter from the camera mount following the body’s standard removal procedure. Because the adapter is purely mechanical, autofocus and electronic functions are governed by the lens and camera in use; the adapter itself does not transmit electronic signals.
Inspect threads for dirt or debris before attachment and use a moderate hand torque when fastening filters to avoid cross-threading. When using heavy front-mounted accessories, support the assembly to reduce strain on the camera mount. Store the adapter in a dry, dust-free place when not in use to maintain thread integrity and finish.
