Lens Adapter Pixco for Nikon AF/Ai/AiS to M42 with Locking Ring (Slim)
Lens Adapter Pixco for Nikon AF/Ai/AiS to M42 with Locking Ring (Slim)
Pixco lens adapter for Nikon AF/Ai/AiS to M42 with Locking Ring (Slim) enables mounting M42 screw-mount lenses on Nikon bodies that accept AF, Ai and AiS mounts. This slim-profile adapter provides a secure mechanical connection between camera and lens, allowing manual focus and manual aperture control. The adapter does not transmit electronic signals, so autofocus and electronic aperture control are not supported; it is designed for photographers and videographers who use legacy M42 glass on modern Nikon bodies.
The slim design reduces the added flange distance, helping to maintain a compact setup and improve handling. A locking ring secures the lens to the adapter and prevents unwanted rotation during use. Constructed for mechanical reliability, the adapter offers straightforward mounting and removal of M42 lenses on compatible Nikon bodies without the need for tools. Its metal build provides durability for repeated attachment cycles while keeping overall weight low.
Align the M42 lens thread with the adapter and screw the lens into the adapter until it seats firmly. Attach the adapter to the Nikon camera mount by aligning the mount marks and rotating the adapter into the camera's bayonet until it locks. Engage the locking ring to secure the lens and prevent rotation. To remove, unlock the ring, press the camera's lens release and rotate the adapter away from the camera mount, then unscrew the lens from the adapter. Verify that the lens is correctly seated before use and avoid forcing components.
Because the adapter provides mechanical coupling only, set the camera to an exposure mode that supports manual or aperture-priority operation and confirm focus manually. Use focus peaking or live view magnification for accurate focusing when available. Store the adapter and lenses in a dry, dust-free environment and attach body and rear caps when not in use to protect mount surfaces.
