Adapter Pixco for Panasonic/Olympus Micro 4/3 to Leica M mount
Adapter Pixco for Panasonic/Olympus Micro 4/3 to Leica M mount
The Pixco adapter for Panasonic/Olympus Micro 4/3 to Leica M mount is a mechanical lens mount adapter that enables mounting Leica M rangefinder lenses onto Micro Four Thirds camera bodies. It provides a solid physical connection without electronic contacts, allowing manual focus and manual aperture control when using M-mount lenses on Panasonic and Olympus mirrorless cameras. The adapter preserves the optical path and flange distance so that legacy Leica M optics can be used for creative shooting on m4/3 sensors.
The adapter offers rigid metal construction and precise bayonet alignment to ensure repeatable lens seating and stable attachment. By using a fully mechanical design, it avoids electronic compatibility issues and supports virtually all Leica M screw-fit and bayonet lenses that are optically compatible with Micro Four Thirds coverage. The compact, lightweight design adds minimal bulk and keeps the adapted lens balance close to original handling characteristics. Its simple, tool-free installation and removal make it convenient for field use.
To use the adapter, align the red or white index marks on the adapter and the Leica M lens, insert the lens into the adapter bayonet, and rotate until it locks into place. Mount the combined adapter and lens onto the Micro Four Thirds camera body by aligning the adapter mark with the camera mount indexing point and turning until it clicks. Operate focus and aperture directly on the lens; camera will rely on manual settings and, when available, focus assist aids in the camera such as magnification or focus peaking. Remove the lens by reversing the steps: detach from the camera first, then unlock the lens from the adapter.
Use manual exposure modes or aperture-priority on the camera and enable focus-assist features for precise focusing. When shooting wide-open or with older lenses, meter carefully and consider using a tripod for critical work. Store the adapter and lenses in a dry environment and avoid applying excessive torque when attaching or detaching to preserve bayonet surfaces.
