POLYMAKER Panchroma PLA Matte 1.75 mm is a PLA filament formulated for FDM desktop 3D printers. The matte finish reduces surface gloss, producing prints with a subdued, non-reflective appearance. The material retains the typical dimensional stability and ease of printing associated with PLA, making it suitable for prototypes, display models and decorative parts that benefit from a soft, low-sheen surface.
The matte formulation minimizes surface reflections and helps mask minor layer inconsistencies without additional post-processing. Good dimensional stability and consistent diameter ensure reliable extrusion and predictable part dimensions. As a PLA-based material, it prints at moderate temperatures, requires no heated enclosure and is compatible with a wide range of desktop FDM printers calibrated for 1.75 mm filament.
Load the 1.75 mm filament into the printer according to the printer manufacturer’s procedure. Set the nozzle temperature in line with typical PLA settings for your printer and specific color — generally moderate temperatures are sufficient. Use a suitable print bed surface and adhesion method for PLA; a heated bed is optional but can improve first-layer adhesion. Calibrate extrusion multiplier and retraction for the matte formulation to reduce stringing and ensure consistent layer lines. After printing, allow parts to cool before removal to avoid distortion.
Store the filament in a dry environment and keep spool sealed when not in use to preserve print quality. For best surface results, adjust layer height and print speed: slightly slower speeds and moderate layer heights enhance the matte appearance and reduce visible banding. Test small prints to fine-tune temperature and retraction settings for your specific printer.
