Welding Helmet Powerweld 2718 G+ blue — auto-darkening protective face shield
The Powerweld 2718 G+ blue is an auto-darkening welding helmet designed to provide reliable face and eye protection during arc welding operations. The helmet integrates an optical filter that automatically darkens when an arc is struck, allowing the user to keep the shield lowered throughout the weld while maintaining visibility before and after the arc. Its shell covers the face and forehead to reduce exposure to sparks, spatter and UV/IR radiation and is intended for general welding applications where a combination of protection and convenient workflow is required.
The helmet offers hands-free switching of lens shade thanks to its auto-darkening filter, improving efficiency by eliminating the need to flip the shield manually. The blue-coloured shell provides clear identification in a workshop environment while the design ensures full face coverage and comfortable wear for extended use. The optical filter maintains clarity in light state and rapid transition to dark state protects from bright arcs, reducing eye strain and improving visual control of the weld pool.
Before use, inspect the helmet and optical filter for any damage or dirt that can affect performance. Adjust the headgear so the helmet sits comfortably and the lens is aligned with your eyes. When ready to weld, lower the helmet; the auto-darkening lens will switch to the dark state as the arc is struck, providing eye protection during welding. After the arc stops the lens returns to the light state allowing clear view of the workpiece. Replace batteries or solar cells and any damaged components following the manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations to preserve proper function.
Use the Powerweld 2718 G+ helmet with appropriate welding gloves, protective clothing and respiratory protection as required by the welding process and local safety regulations. Regularly clean the lens cover and check the auto-darkening response before critical work. Do not use the helmet if the optical filter or shell is cracked or heavily damaged.
