PREMIUMCORD USB 2.0 repeater extension cable A Male to A Female, 25 m, is an active extension cable designed to extend USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 connections beyond the standard maximum cable length. The cable contains integrated repeater electronics (two active amplifiers) that restore and maintain signal integrity to support data rates up to USB 2.0 speeds, allowing peripherals to be connected up to 25 metres from the host without external power.
The active repeater design enables reliable transmission over distances longer than standard passive cables by amplifying and reshaping the USB signal at intervals. The cable supports USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 data rates (1.5 Mbps, 12 Mbps and 480 Mbps) and draws power directly from the host USB port, eliminating the need for an external power supply. Connectors are standard A male (to host) and A female (for the device cable), and the product is supplied in a compact retail box.
Plug the USB A male connector of the repeater cable into an available USB port on the host computer or hub. Connect the existing USB device cable into the A female connector at the far end of the repeater cable. Ensure both ends are connected firmly; the cable’s internal repeaters will automatically amplify the signal and negotiate the highest supported speed between host and device. No driver installation is required for standard USB mass storage and human interface devices on supported operating systems.
Use the cable with devices and hubs that conform to USB standards. For high-power USB devices or devices that require sustained high current, consider using a powered USB hub or a device with its own power supply, since the repeater cable is bus-powered and its ability to supply device current is limited by the host port. Avoid sharp bends and protect the cable from pinching; route the cable to minimise interference from strong electromagnetic sources.
