USB-C to RS232 converter PREMIUMCORD ku31-232A, 20 cm cable length
PREMIUMCORD ku31-232A is a USB-C to RS-232 converter with an integrated 20 cm cable that lets modern USB-C devices connect to legacy RS-232 serial equipment. It uses an FTDI FT232RL chipset and includes a driver CD. The adapter supports data transmission for device programming, firmware updates and communication with PDAs, card readers, modems and other serial peripherals on laptops and desktops with USB-C (USB 3.1) ports.
The adapter provides reliable serial communication at transfer rates up to 1 Mbps and uses the widely supported FTDI FT232RL chipset for stable performance and driver availability. It requires no IRQ configuration, is compact and portable, and comes with a 9-pin Canon (DB9) male connector. The 20 cm cable length and black color make it suitable for both field and office use.
Install drivers from the included CD or download the latest FTDI drivers from the manufacturer's website. Plug the USB-C end into your computer's USB-C (USB 3.1) port and connect the DB9 male connector to the RS-232 device. Configure the serial port settings (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits) in your terminal software or device management application to match the connected device.
Ensure you use the correct serial settings for your RS-232 device and keep drivers up to date from the FTDI website. For best results, avoid using cable extenders that may degrade signal integrity over long distances.
