HDMI optical cable Procab CLV220A/40 40 m — 4K support

The Procab CLV220A/40 is a 40 m optical HDMI cable designed to transmit high-definition video and audio signals over long distances with minimal signal degradation. Using optical fiber technology, this HDMI cable supports 4K resolution and is intended for installations where copper HDMI cables would be impractical due to length limitations. The cable is suitable for connecting displays, projectors and AV equipment in home cinema systems, conference rooms and digital signage setups.

Advantages

Optical construction preserves signal integrity across the entire 40 m length, avoiding the attenuation and electromagnetic interference common with long copper HDMI runs. The cable supports 4K resolution, enabling high-definition video and multichannel audio transmission. Its design facilitates clean installations over long distances, reducing the need for repeaters or signal boosters and making it suitable for both permanent AV installations and temporary event setups.

Suitable for

• Connecting 4K TVs and projectors located far from source devices
• AV installations in conference rooms and auditoriums
• Digital signage networks and retail displays
• Home cinema systems requiring long, single-cable runs

Key specifications

• Cable type: HDMI over optical fiber
• Length: 40 m
• Video resolution support: up to 4K
• Signal medium: optical fiber for reduced attenuation and EMI immunity
• Connectors: HDMI-compatible terminations suitable for standard HDMI ports

How to use

Connect one end of the Procab CLV220A/40 to the HDMI output of your source device and the other end to the HDMI input of the display or projector. Ensure connectors are fully seated in the HDMI ports and avoid tight bends in the cable to maintain optical fiber integrity. Power on source and display devices and select the appropriate HDMI input on the display. If the display does not automatically detect the signal, verify resolution and refresh-rate settings on the source device and confirm compatibility with 4K operation.

Usage recommendations

Route the cable away from heavy-duty power lines or sources of strong electromagnetic noise during installation, and avoid sharp bends or kinks. For ceiling or wall runs, use suitable clips or conduits to protect the optical fiber. When using long-distance HDMI-over-fiber connections in professional environments, verify EDID and HDCP compatibility between source and display to ensure reliable 4K playback.
