Torx Bit Socket 1/2" T20 Proline 18657 – drive tool for Torx fasteners
Proline Torx Bit Socket 1/2" T20 (model 18657) is a drive accessory designed to fit 1/2-inch square drive tools and engage T20 Torx fasteners. The tool creates a stable connection between ratchets or impact drivers and Torx screws, intended for repair, maintenance and assembly jobs where a T20 size is required. The bit socket is supplied by the Proline brand and designed for repeated engagement with Torx-pattern heads in automotive and mechanical applications.
The Proline 1/2" T20 Torx bit socket offers a standardized interface for 1/2-inch drives, enabling use with a wide range of hand and power drive tools. Its Torx T20 profile provides accurate engagement with corresponding fasteners to reduce cam-out and wear. The bit socket is practical for tasks that require reach and torque transfer from ratchets or impact tools to Torx screws, and its single-piece design simplifies replacement and storage.
Select a compatible 1/2" drive ratchet, breaker bar or impact driver. Insert the square drive of the tool into the bit socket until it seats securely. Engage the Torx T20 tip with the corresponding Torx screw head and apply torque as required. For removal, reverse the direction of the drive. Inspect the bit tip and fastener interface periodically for wear and replace the bit socket if signs of rounding or damage appear.
Use with tools rated for the intended application: hand ratchets for controlled torque and impact-rated drivers or sockets for higher-torque operations. Avoid excessive side loading and use the correct T20 size to minimize fastener and tool wear.
