Socket Bit Torx 1/2" T55 Proline 18664 — Torx insert for 1/2-inch drive
Proline 18664 is a Torx insert sized T55 with a 1/2" drive engineered for use with 1/2" ratchets, breaker bars or extension bars. The socket bit features a precisely formed Torx tip profile to engage Torx-head fasteners securely, reducing cam-out and distributing torque across the fastener. It is made for applications in automotive, industrial and mechanical repair where a durable 1/2" Torx accessory is required.
The 1/2" T55 Torx socket bit offers accurate fit to Torx fasteners and reliable torque transfer for tightening and loosening operations. Its hardened tip and solid construction improve wear resistance and service life under repeated use. The half-inch drive interface ensures compatibility with common 1/2" hand tools and accessories, enabling use with ratchets, impact drivers (where appropriate), extensions and torque wrenches suitable for 1/2" drives.
Select the Proline 1/2" T55 Torx socket bit and attach it securely to a compatible 1/2" drive tool such as a ratchet, torque wrench or extension bar. Align the Torx tip with the fastener head before applying torque to avoid slipping. Apply steady, controlled force when tightening or loosening; when using a torque wrench, set the required torque value according to fastener specifications. Inspect the bit for wear or damage before use and replace if the tip shows rounding or deformation.
Use the socket bit with tools rated for 1/2" drive and appropriate torque limits. Avoid using excessive impact on non-impact-rated bits. Keep the bit clean and store in a dry place to extend service life. Replace the bit if the Torx profile becomes worn to prevent damage to fasteners.
