Metalworking chisel Proline 31340 — hand chisel for metal, 1 pc
Proline 31340 metalworking chisel is a single-piece hand tool for cutting, shaping and removing metal material. Supplied as one piece, the chisel is intended for tasks such as trimming edges, chipping rust or scale, and preparing surfaces for welding or fitting. Constructed from quenched, high-quality tool steel with a PVC cover on the handle, it provides a durable blade and a comfortable grip for controlled striking in workshop, construction and repair environments.
The chisel head is made from quenched tool steel to maintain edge durability and resist deformation under repeated impact. The single-piece construction improves strength by eliminating joints between blade and handle, while the PVC cover gives a non-slip surface that reduces hand fatigue during extended use. The design balances hardness for cutting with sufficient toughness to survive common workshop impacts.
Position the chisel cutting edge against the metal at the required angle and strike the blunt end of the tool with a suitable hammer. Use controlled, evenly distributed blows to remove material or clean surfaces; avoid excessive force that could damage the edge or the chisel. Keep the cutting edge correctly oriented relative to the workpiece to achieve clean chips and avoid slipping. After use, check the edge for burrs and sharpen or dress as needed before storage.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety goggles and gloves when using the chisel. Use a hammer compatible with hand striking tools and inspect the PVC-covered handle for wear before each use. Store the chisel in a dry place to limit corrosion and re-harden or re-sharpen the blade only with suitable equipment and procedures.
