Proline Tools 31362 metalworking chisel set is a compact selection of hand punches and chisels supplied in a plastic tool organizer. The set contains a single pack with multiple steel tools designed for metalworking tasks: a center punch (115 mm x 8 mm), a taper pin punch (140 mm x 2 mm), two chisels (140 mm x 10 mm and 150 mm x 12 mm) and two parallel punches (150 mm x 6 mm and 150 mm x 3 mm). The organiser keeps each item in place for easy transport and storage.
The Proline Tools set groups commonly used metalworking punches and chisels in one pack, reducing the need to buy individual tools. Each piece is sized for specific tasks, offering a range of diameters and lengths to match different metalworking operations. The included plastic tool organizer provides orderly storage and quick access, which helps maintain tool condition and convenience on the workbench.
Select the appropriate punch or chisel from the set for the intended task and secure the workpiece. For center punching, position the center punch at the desired point and strike the head with a hammer to create an accurate starting dimple for drilling. Use the taper pin punch to drive out or align taper pins by applying controlled hammer blows. For chiseling, place the chisel edge on the work surface and strike the head with a suitable hammer while keeping the tool aligned to avoid slipping. Parallel punches are used to form consistent indentations or to drive through sheet metal where a specific diameter is required. After use, return tools to the plastic organizer to protect tips and maintain order.
Wear appropriate eye protection and gloves when striking or chiselling. Ensure hammer strikes are controlled and use the correct tool size for the job to avoid damage to the tool or workpiece. Store the set in the provided organizer to prevent corrosion and to preserve the precision of tips and edges.
