Punch and Nail Set Proline 32020 — 1-piece drift/punch tool
Proline 32020 is a one-piece punch and nail set intended for metalworking and general workshop tasks. The tool functions as a drift punch or nail punch for driving, aligning and removing pins, rivets and similar fasteners. Supplied as a single unit, it is suitable for precision positioning during assembly and disassembly, and for light carpentry and mechanical work where controlled impact and accurate alignment are required.
The one-piece construction ensures consistent alignment between the shaft and tip, reducing play during use and providing reliable transfer of impact force. Hardened steel tip material maintains shape under repeated blows for long service life. The compact, single-tool format is easy to store and carry in a toolbox or pocket, and its straightforward design allows rapid placement and removal of pins without additional setup.
Hold the punch by the shaft with a firm grip and position the tip against the centre of the pin or fastener to be driven or removed. Use a hammer to apply controlled blows to the tool’s striking end while keeping the punch aligned with the workpiece. For alignment tasks, insert the tip into the mating holes and tap gently until parts are correctly positioned. Inspect the tip before use and avoid excessive sideways force that could bend the tool or damage the workpiece.
Wear appropriate eye protection when striking the punch. Select a punch diameter close to the pin or hole size to ensure stable contact. Do not use the tool on hardened bolts or fasteners beyond its rated hardness; avoid using as a chisel. After use, clean any debris and store the tool in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
