Proline 49083 is a manual abrasive sanding supply roll measuring 200 mm in width and 5,000 mm in length supplied as a single piece. The roll is made from elastic cloth Type J with a normal full-alumina coating and a synthetic resin binder. It is designed for hand sanding and finishing of wood, metal, composites, plastics and painted surfaces, and can be cut to length for use with sanding blocks, files or custom jigs.

How to use

Cut the required length from the roll using scissors or a utility knife and secure it to a sanding block, file or bespoke jig appropriate for the workpiece. Start with a coarser grit if significant material removal is needed, then progress to finer grits for smoothing and finishing. Apply steady, even pressure and sand along the grain on wood or with consistent strokes on metal and plastics. Replace the abrasive piece when cutting performance noticeably decreases or the cloth backing shows significant wear.

Usage recommendations

For best results on steel and cast iron, use this roll with progressively finer grits and ensure chips and clogged debris are removed frequently. When sanding painted surfaces, test on a small area first and use appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid inhalation of dust or hazardous residues.
