Drill bit Proline 14 mm x 160 mm, model 76140P, single metal bit
Drill bit Proline 14 mm x 160 mm, model 76140P, single metal bit
Single Proline metal drill bit, model 76140P, 14 mm diameter and 160 mm overall length, designed for drilling metal and other hard materials. Manufactured from HSS refined steel and compatible with DIN 338 standard, this straight-shank bit is intended for workshop, repair and fabrication tasks. The 13 mm relief and included PVC case support safe storage and straightforward handling when used with compatible hand drills and drill presses.
The HSS refined steel construction provides high hardness and wear resistance for drilling through steel, cast iron and other common metals. Compliance with DIN 338 ensures standardised geometry and reliable fit in chucks. The 13 mm relief assists in efficient chip evacuation and reduces friction near the cutting edge. Supplied in a PVC case for organised storage and protection of the cutting tip during transport.
Secure the drill bit firmly in the drill chuck, ensuring correct alignment and tight clamping. Select an appropriate spindle speed and cutting lubricant for the metal being drilled to prolong bit life and improve chip removal. Start drilling with steady pressure, allowing the bit to cut without excessive force; withdraw periodically to clear chips when drilling deep holes. After use, clean the bit and return it to the PVC case to protect the cutting edges.
Use lower speeds and cutting oil for stainless steel or hard alloys, and higher speeds for softer metals. Inspect the bit for wear before each use and replace if the cutting edges are chipped or excessively worn. Always wear appropriate eye and hand protection when drilling metal.
