Drill bit Proline 15.5 mm, model 76155P, length 178 mm, 1 pc
Single metal drill bit Proline with a 15.5 mm diameter and a total length of 178 mm, intended for drilling steel and other metal workpieces. Made from HSS refined steel and produced to be compatible with the DIN 338 standard. The bit features a 13 mm relief length and is supplied as one piece in a PVC case for storage and transport.
The Proline 15.5 mm drill bit is manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) which provides wear resistance and sustained cutting performance when drilling a range of metallic materials. Conformance with DIN 338 ensures consistent geometry and compatibility with standard drill chucks and holders. The 13 mm relief reduces friction at the cutting edges and facilitates chip evacuation, while the included PVC case protects the cutting tip and simplifies handling and storage.
Secure the drill bit firmly in a compatible chuck, ensuring correct alignment and tightening before starting. Select an appropriate spindle speed and feed rate for the material being drilled; use lower speeds and steady pressure for harder metals. Apply cutting fluid or lubricant as required to reduce heat and extend tool life, and clear chips periodically to avoid clogging. After use, allow the bit to cool before returning it to the PVC case for storage.
For best results when drilling metals, use a center punch to mark the hole position, start with a pilot hole if necessary, and apply cutting fluid. Match speed and feed to workpiece material: lower RPMs for hard steels, higher RPMs for softer metals. Inspect the bit for wear before reuse and store it in the provided PVC case to protect the cutting edges.
