Drill bit Proline 20 mm metal, model 76420, 1 pc
Proline drill bit 20 mm for metal (model 76420) is a single high-speed steel cutting tool designed for drilling 20 mm diameter holes in metal sheets, pipes and profiles. The bit is intended for general metalworking, repair and installation tasks and is compatible with standard hand drills and drill presses. Available as a single piece, the drill bit offers a conventional straight-shank design suitable for common drill chucks and provides consistent hole size for through-holes and clearance drilling in a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
The high-speed steel construction ensures heat resistance and edge retention during repeated drilling in metal. The 20 mm diameter provides a predictable hole size for fittings and fasteners. Its straight shank and single-piece format make it easy to mount in both hand-held and bench-mounted drilling equipment. The geometry and cutting edges are optimized for clean chip evacuation in sheet metal and tubular work, reducing the need for secondary deburring in many applications.
Secure the workpiece firmly and mark the drilling position. Fit the 20 mm drill bit into the chuck and tighten securely. For metal drilling, use cutting fluid or lubricant to reduce friction and heat build-up. Start at low to moderate speed to establish the hole, then apply steady pressure and maintain appropriate spindle speed for the material thickness and type. After completing the hole, retract the bit with the drill running briefly to clear chips, then stop and remove the workpiece for inspection and any required deburring.
Use a clamp or vice to hold small or thin metal parts to prevent movement. Select drilling speeds and feed rates appropriate to the metal type—lower speeds for stainless steels, higher speeds for softer non-ferrous metals—and apply cutting fluid for extended tool life. Inspect the cutting edges before use and replace the bit if excessive wear or chipping is observed.
