Drill bit Proline 77150 — metal drill bit Ø15 mm, length 169 mm, 1 pc
Proline 77150 is a single HSS metal drill bit with a 15 mm diameter and an overall length of 169 mm, supplied as one piece. Designed for metalworking, this solid, fully ground drill bit fits standard drill chucks for both manual and machine use. Its 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment and precision grinding ensure straight, accurate holes and efficient cutting performance for workshop and repair tasks that require a medium-large diameter.
The drill bit is made entirely by precision grinding from high-quality refined high-speed steel (HSS), which provides increased abrasion resistance, resilience and torsional strength. The 135° point geometry with chamfering adjustment allows quick penetration and reduces the need for repeated centre punching. Fully ground construction guarantees high dimensional accuracy and straightness of drilled holes, improving efficiency compared with conventional cylindrical drills.
Secure the drill bit in a suitable chuck, ensuring it is correctly seated and tightened. Select an appropriate cutting speed and feed for the metal being drilled; use lower speeds for harder materials and higher speeds for softer metals. Apply steady, even pressure and allow the drill bit to cut without forcing. Periodically withdraw the bit to clear chips and improve cooling. For cleaner starts, use a centre punch or pilot mark if necessary, although the 135° point reduces the need for extensive centre punching.
Use cutting fluid or suitable lubricant when drilling metals to reduce heat build-up and extend tool life. Inspect the drill bit for wear or damage before use and replace when cutting performance declines. Match the drill speed and feed to the metal type and thickness to ensure accurate holes and longer tool life.
