Proline 77195 is a single high-speed steel (HSS) drill bit designed for metalworking tasks. With a diameter of 19.5 mm and an overall length of 205 mm, this solid bit is intended for creating accurate holes in metal sheets and structural parts. The tool is suitable for use with compatible hand drills and drill presses and is supplied as one piece in protective plastic packaging that preserves the cutting geometry and prevents damage during storage or transport.
The drill features a 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment for rapid engagement and reduced need for center punching. Produced entirely by grinding, the bit provides high precision and straightness of holes compared with many cylindrical or precision-ground alternatives. Manufactured from refined HSS, it offers increased abrasion resistance as well as improved resilience and torsional strength for demanding metal drilling operations.
Select a suitable drill or drill press that can securely hold a 19.5 mm bit and set an appropriate spindle speed for HSS drilling in metal. Clamp the workpiece firmly and, where possible, use a center punch or the chamfering-adjusted point to locate the drilling position. Apply steady feed pressure and allow the bit to cut without excessive force; withdraw periodically to clear chips and prevent overheating. Use cutting fluid or lubricant for improved tool life and better surface finish on the hole.
For longer tool life and optimal hole quality, use appropriate cutting fluid, moderate spindle speeds, and intermittent pecking when drilling thick or hard metals. Inspect the bit for wear before use and replace if the cutting edges are chipped or excessively worn.
