Drill bit Proline 77700, metal, Ø10 mm, length 340 mm, 1 pc
Proline 77700 metal drill bit, diameter 10 mm and overall length 340 mm, is a high-speed steel (HSS) twist drill designed for extended-reach metalworking. The extra-long ground design provides accurate, straight holes in steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics. Supplied as a single piece, this drill bit fits standard hand drills and drill presses where a 10 mm hole and deeper access are required.
The drill features a 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment for fast penetration and reduced need for layout time. Fully ground flutes ensure high accuracy and rectilinearity of holes, making the bit suitable for precision work and drilling with drill bushes. Manufactured from refined HSS material, the bit offers wear resistance and consistent cutting performance over repeated use.
Secure the drill bit in the chuck of a hand drill or drill press, ensuring firm clamping without excessive runout. Mark and, if necessary, center-punch the workpiece before drilling to improve accuracy. Use appropriate cutting speeds and feed rates for the material being drilled; reduce speed for harder steels and increase speed for softer non-ferrous metals and plastics. Apply cutting lubricant when drilling steels to extend tool life and clear chips frequently to prevent clogging of the long flutes.
For optimal results, start with a small pilot hole when drilling deep or long-reach holes, and use steady, moderate pressure. Maintain proper coolant or cutting oil when working with steels and check the bit for wear regularly; replace if cutting performance or hole straightness deteriorates.
