Drill bit Proline 10.5 mm, length 340 mm, model 77705, 1 piece
The Proline drill bit model 77705 is a single HSS metal drill designed for creating precise 10.5 mm holes. With an overall length of 340 mm, this extra-long, fully ground drill is intended for use in steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics. The bit is supplied as one piece and is suitable for compatible metalworking drills used in fabrication, maintenance and general workshop tasks where a long reach and accurate, straight holes are required.
This drill bit features a 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment that enables quick penetration and reduces the need for extensive marking out. Fully ground flutes provide high accuracy and rectilinearity of holes, making the bit particularly useful when drilling with drill bushes or guides. Manufactured from refined high-speed steel (HSS), the bit combines hardness and toughness appropriate for cutting a range of metals and plastics. The extra-long length increases reach for deep or hard-to-access drilling operations.
Secure the workpiece and, if required, use a drill bush or guide to ensure straightness. Select a compatible drill chuck and clamp the 10.5 mm shank firmly. Start drilling at low speed to establish the bore, then increase speed and apply steady pressure appropriate to the material. Use cutting fluid or coolant when working with steel or other metals to reduce heat and prolong tool life. Withdraw the bit occasionally to clear chips when drilling deep holes.
For best results when drilling metal, use an appropriate cutting lubricant, maintain stable clamping of the workpiece, and avoid excessive feed that can cause bit breakage. When drilling with guides or drill bushes, the fully ground geometry will help maintain hole accuracy; periodically inspect the bit for wear and replace it when the cutting edges become dull.
