Drill bit set Proline 78010K — 5 pcs, metal bits Ø 1 mm, length 34 mm
Proline 78010K is a set of five precision metal drill bits with a diameter of 1 mm and a length of 34 mm. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with 5% cobalt, each bit is fully ground to ensure high accuracy and straightness of holes. The 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment supports fast penetration and accurate positioning, while the material composition provides improved temperature resistance and durability for demanding metalworking tasks.
The bits are made entirely by grinding to deliver consistent concentricity and rectilinearity, reducing wobble and improving repeatability for small-diameter holes. The 5% cobalt HSS alloy increases hardness and heat resistance compared with standard HSS, making these bits suitable for machining high-alloy steels, titanium, stainless and acid-resistant steels, creep-resisting steels and cast iron. The 135° point geometry with chamfering aids quick drilling and reduces the need for extensive marking out.
Select a drill press or handheld rotary tool compatible with 1 mm diameter bits and secure the workpiece to prevent movement. Mark the drilling position and, if needed, use a center punch to improve accuracy. Fit the bit into the chuck, ensure it is clamped straight and run the tool at an appropriate speed for small HSS-cobalt drills—typically higher spindle speeds with light feed and steady coolant or cutting lubricant. Apply light, consistent pressure; retract periodically to clear chips and avoid overheating. Replace bits from the set when wear affects hole quality.
For best results when drilling high-alloy or stainless materials, use cutting fluid and moderate speeds, avoid excessive feed force, and frequently clear chips. Store the bits in their blister pack to protect cutting edges and maintain accuracy.
