Drill bits set Proline 78015K — 5 pcs, 1.5 mm diameter, 43 mm length
Proline 78015K is a set of five precision metal drill bits with a nominal diameter of 1.5 mm and a length of 43 mm. Manufactured from high-speed steel with 5% cobalt (HSS-Co), these bits are designed for drilling small, accurate holes in metals and other hard-to-machine materials. Each drill is fully ground to ensure straightness and dimensional accuracy and is supplied in a blister pack for safe storage and handling.
The 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment enables fast penetration and reliable centring on metal surfaces, reducing the need for re-marking. HSS steel with 5% cobalt provides increased heat resistance and extended tool life when working with high-alloy, stainless, acid-resistant, and creep-resisting steels, titanium and cast iron. Precision grinding of the flutes and cutting edges ensures consistent hole quality and rectilinearity for repeatable, small-diameter drilling.
Secure the workpiece and use an appropriate clamping method to prevent rotation or movement. Select the correct drill speed for 1.5 mm HSS-Co drills—moderate to high spindle speeds with controlled feed produce the best results. Where possible, centre-punch or use a pilot mark to improve initial tracking, especially on smooth or hardened surfaces. Apply cutting fluid to reduce friction and temperature build-up when drilling hard alloys; peck drilling is recommended for deeper holes to clear chips and avoid tool breakage. After use, clean and store the bits in their blister pack to protect cutting edges.
Use moderate speeds and steady feed rates with adequate cooling when drilling stainless, high-alloy steels or titanium. For small-diameter holes, maintain alignment and avoid side loads to prevent chipping or breakage; replace worn drills to ensure hole quality and dimensional accuracy.
