Drill bit Proline 78052K, metal, Ø 5.2 mm, length 86 mm, 1 pc
Proline 78052K is a single HSS-Co metal drill bit with a 5.2 mm diameter and an overall length of 86 mm. Designed specifically for drilling metal, this solid, fully ground drill bit is suitable for hand drills and drill presses and delivers precise, straight holes with minimal runout. The 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment enables fast initial penetration and reduced walking at the start of the hole, while cobalt alloy construction provides increased hardness and temperature resistance for demanding materials.
The drill bit is made from high-class high-speed steel with 5% cobalt, offering enhanced wear resistance and stability at elevated temperatures. Full grinding manufacturing ensures consistent diameter accuracy and rectilinear hole quality. The 135° point geometry with chamfering reduces the need for re-marking and speeds up drilling operations. Supplied as a single piece in a blister pack, it fits standard chucks and is ready for immediate use.
Secure the drill bit in a properly tightened chuck and set the drill or drill press to an appropriate speed for 5.2 mm HSS-Co bits and the specific workpiece material. Use cutting fluid or coolant when drilling high-alloy, stainless or heat-sensitive materials to prolong tool life and reduce heat buildup. Apply steady, moderate feed pressure and allow the bit to cut without excessive force to maintain hole accuracy and prevent premature wear.
For best results, select drill speeds and coolant appropriate to the material: lower speeds and continuous coolant for stainless and high-alloy steels, moderate speeds for cast iron. Inspect the cutting edges before use and replace the bit if wear or chipping is visible. Store in original blister packaging to protect the ground cutting surfaces when not in use.
