Drill bit Proline 78060K — metal, 6 mm diameter, 93 mm length, 1 pc
The Proline 78060K metal drill bit is a single-piece HSS-Co drill designed for creating precise 6 mm diameter holes. With a total length of 93 mm and a 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment, this drill bit is intended for use on metal and other hard-to-machine materials. Manufactured by grinding from high-class high-speed steel with 5% cobalt, the bit offers elevated temperature resistance and consistent geometry for accurate, straight holes. It is supplied in a blister pack as a single piece and fits standard drill chucks for general repair, metalworking and construction tasks that require a reliable 6 mm hole.
The 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment allows quick centring and reduced walking at the drill tip, improving drilling speed and repeatability. Construction from HSS with 5% cobalt increases heat resistance and cutting performance when working with high-alloy steels, stainless steels, titanium and cast iron. Full grinding production ensures high dimensional accuracy and rectilinearity of holes, while compatibility with standard chucks makes the bit easy to install and use in common drills.
Fit the drill bit securely into a compatible chuck and tighten according to the drill manufacturer’s instructions. Select appropriate rotational speed and feed rate for the workpiece material — lower speeds for hard alloys and stainless steel, higher speeds for softer metals. Use a centre punch or pilot mark to prevent walking, and apply steady pressure, letting the bit cut without excessive force. Use cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless steel, titanium or other heat-sensitive materials to extend tool life and improve hole quality. After use, clean the bit and store it dry to prevent corrosion.
For best results when drilling high-alloy or stainless materials, use cutting fluid and reduced spindle speed; for cast iron, a slightly higher speed and intermittent feed can improve chip evacuation. Replace the bit when wear or loss of geometry reduces hole quality.
