Drill bit Proline 78065K, metal, Ø 6.5 mm, length 101 mm, 1 pc
Proline 78065K metal drill bit, diameter 6.5 mm and overall length 101 mm, is a single-piece HSS-Co cutting tool designed for drilling a wide range of metals. Manufactured from high-class high-speed steel with 5% cobalt and produced entirely by grinding, this drill bit delivers precise, straight holes and high dimensional accuracy. The 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment facilitates fast penetration and reduced walking during start-up, while elevated temperature resistance supports use at higher cutting speeds and in demanding materials.
This Proline drill bit offers enhanced wear resistance and durability due to its cobalt alloyed HSS composition, making it suitable for hard and heat-resistant steels, stainless and acid-resistant alloys, titanium, and cast iron. Fully ground flutes ensure good concentricity and straightness of drilled holes. The 135° split-point geometry reduces the need for center punching and improves centering, which saves time during marking and setup. Supplied as a single piece in a blister pack, it is ready for workshop or maintenance use.
Secure the Proline 78065K drill bit in the appropriate chuck of a hand drill or drill press, ensuring correct clamping and concentricity. Select a suitable cutting speed and feed for the workpiece material; lower speeds are recommended for stainless and heat-resistant steels while higher speeds may be used for softer steels within the drill’s thermal limits. Use cutting fluid or coolant when drilling hard, heat-sensitive, or stainless materials to extend tool life and improve chip evacuation. Apply moderate pressure and allow the drill to cut steadily without excessive force.
For best results when drilling high-alloy or stainless steels, pre-drill pilot holes for larger diameters, maintain proper coolant flow, and avoid overheating by using intermittent drilling or pecking cycles. Replace the bit when wear or chipping affects hole quality.
