Drill bit Proline 78075K is a single high-speed steel twist drill designed for precise metalworking. With a diameter of 7.5 mm and a total length of 109 mm, this bit is intended for drilling holes in a range of difficult-to-machine metals including high-alloy steels, stainless and acid-resistant steels, titanium and cast iron. The 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment shortens centring time and improves cutting performance while the fully ground construction ensures straightness and accurate hole geometry.
The drill bit is manufactured from premium HSS with 5% cobalt for improved hardness and thermal resistance during high-speed cutting. Its 135° point angle reduces walking on the workpiece and speeds up drilling. Full grinding processing guarantees high concentricity and rectilinearity of holes. The geometry and material composition provide increased life when working with high-strength and heat-resistant alloys.
Secure the drill bit in the chuck of a compatible drill or drill press and ensure correct alignment and clamping. Mark and centre the drilling position, then start at low speed to ensure accurate centring before increasing to the recommended cutting speed for the material. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless, high-alloy steels or titanium to reduce heat and prolong tool life. Apply steady, moderate feed pressure and withdraw periodically to clear chips when drilling deep holes.
For best results, select cutting speeds and feed rates suitable for the specific metal being drilled and use coolant with high-alloy or stainless steels. Inspect the bit for wear and replace when cutting performance or hole quality deteriorates.
