Drill bit Proline 11 mm x 142 mm model 78110K, 1 pc
Drill bit Proline 11 mm x 142 mm model 78110K, 1 pc
Single metal drill bit Proline 78110K with an 11 mm diameter and 142 mm overall length, intended for drilling metal and similar materials. The straight round shank is compatible with hand drills and drill presses, providing a single replacement or spare for workshop, construction, maintenance and installation tasks that require an 11 mm hole. The bit is manufactured from high-speed steel with 5% cobalt and produced entirely by grinding to ensure accurate, straight holes.
The drill bit features a 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment for fast centring and reduced walking when starting holes. Construction from highest-class HSS with 5% cobalt gives increased hardness and high resistance to elevated temperatures, improving wear resistance during demanding drilling operations. Fully ground flutes and cutting geometry deliver high dimensional accuracy and rectilinearity of holes in demanding materials.
Secure the drill bit in the chuck of a hand drill or drill press, ensuring the straight shank is fitted concentrically and tightened. Mark the drilling point and, if required, create a pilot dimple or centre punch to improve accuracy. Use appropriate cutting speed and steady feed force for metal drilling; increase coolant or cutting fluid flow when working with high-alloy or temperature-sensitive materials. Clear chips regularly to avoid clogging and overheating. After use, inspect the cutting edges for wear and store the bit in its blister pack to protect the ground flutes.
The recommended practice is to use cutting fluid and moderate speeds when drilling high-alloy or stainless steels to extend tool life. For accurate starts, use a centre punch or pilot drill and avoid excessive feed that can cause premature wear or breakage.
