Drill bit Proline 78130K — metal twist drill Ø13 mm, length 151 mm, 1 pc
Proline 78130K is a single metal twist drill bit with a 13 mm diameter and a total length of 151 mm. Manufactured from high-class HSS with 5% cobalt, this HSS-Co twist drill is designed for drilling metal and other hard-to-process materials. The tool features a 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment and is fully ground for dimensional accuracy and straightness of holes. Supplied as one piece in a blister pack, it fits standard drill chucks and is intended for workshop, maintenance and fabrication applications requiring a medium-diameter hole.
The 135° point angle and chamfering adjustment enable faster drill entry and reduced walking, improving marking and positioning speed. The HSS with 5% cobalt composition increases heat resistance and prolongs tool life when cutting high-alloy, stainless and other demanding steels. Fully ground construction ensures high accuracy and rectilinearity of drilled holes, while the single-piece blister packaging protects the bit until use.
Secure the drill bit in a compatible drill chuck, ensuring firm clamping and correct axial alignment. Select appropriate cutting speed and feed for the workpiece material: lower speeds for stainless and high-alloy steels and slightly higher speeds for softer metals. Use cutting fluid or coolant when drilling high-alloy or heat-sensitive materials to reduce temperature and extend tool life. Start drilling with a light pilot pressure to establish position, then apply steady pressure while allowing the drill to cut without excessive force.
For best results when drilling high-alloy or stainless steels, use a dedicated cutting fluid and periodically withdraw the bit to clear chips and reduce heat buildup. Match drill speed and feed to material hardness and avoid excessive side loads to maintain hole accuracy and prolong tool life.
