Drill bit Proline 11 mm, model 79110K, length 142 mm, 1 pc
Single Proline drill bit model 79110K with an 11 mm metal drilling diameter and overall length of 142 mm. This solid high-speed steel (HSS) drill bit is designed for drilling clean holes in steel and other metals. The bit features a 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment and ground cutting edges to improve centring, reduce walking at start-up, and provide a consistent drilling action. Supplied as one piece in a blister pack, this drill bit is suitable for use in both handheld and stationary drills for repair, fabrication and installation tasks that require an 11 mm hole.
The 135° point angle with chamfering adjustment allows quicker penetration and more accurate centring compared with standard-point bits, reducing the need for extended centre punching. Ground edges and refined HSS material increase cutting durability and maintain sharpness over multiple operations. The overall 142 mm length provides sufficient reach for many common metalworking applications while remaining compatible with standard drill chucks. Packaged individually in a blister for protection and easy storage.
Secure the drill bit in a compatible chuck and tighten firmly to avoid slipping. Mark the drilling position and, if required, perform a light centre punch to help with initial positioning. Begin at low speed to establish the hole and then increase speed appropriate to the metal being drilled while applying steady pressure. Use cutting lubricant for harder steels or prolonged drilling to reduce heat and extend tool life. Clear chips regularly to prevent clogging and overheating.
For best results when drilling steel, use a suitable cutting lubricant and moderate feed pressure; avoid excessive speed on thick or hard materials. Replace the drill bit when cutting performance declines or when visible wear appears on the cutting edges.
